On the occasion of the publication of Jacques Lacan’s Seminar XV, L’acte psychanalytique*, an encounter entitled « Lacan au présent », was held on 10 February at the Théâtre de la Ville – Sarah Bernhardt, in Paris. Rich in interventions and readings, this day also allowed us to (re)discover fascinating visual archives.
“To Salute Lacan“
Jacques-Alain Miller
“We do not welcome the publication of a seminar by Jacques Lacan (1901-1981) as the testimony of a distant era. A discourse that reveals a new dimension of being is never outdated. This is the case with Freud – and with Lacan, who extends him. Lacan gives a reading of the psychoanalytic Act which is as logical as it is clinical, ranging from the rise of a subject supposed to know to its fall. He gives language – speech and writing – a determining function in the symptoms of the parlêtre. Along the way, he casts a piercing light on culture and in particular, theatre. His meandering thought lends itself neither to system nor to synthesis, and we will be glimpsing some of its facets, interpreting some of its texts, listening to and seeing the character.”
